Three years ago, on December 11th, 2008, Maddie Blaustein passed away. Since then, I've taken to Meowth as a character and an inspiration for a lot of what I do.

I mean, one time in eighth grade, I had to write a report about who my hero was. At first I wanted to write about Blaustein, who was a transsexual, but I ended up writing about Meowth instead when I learned I had to read it out loud. (I regret changing my subject, but I feared many of the immature kids would interpret my report as me wanting to be a guy, and that was something I wanted to avoid.)

Anyway, I talked about how he overcame incredible obstacles for the girl he loved and such, and his enormous determination to rise to the top, even when he keeps getting beat down again and again. He never gives up, and he never will. And that's the kind of willpower that I'd like to have, really.

Of course, the kids in my class laughed at my hero choice anyway, considering I picked a cartoon cat instead of Wayne Gretzky or whatever. But I stand by it.

Right. I've rambled on a bit too long. I just really love Meowth and the voice actress of his I grew up with. I really do.
